President's Day In the United States

Today is President's Day in the United States.

President's Day arose from the February birthdays of president Washington and president Lincoln. Now, it is celebrated (officially) for all presidents. Unfortunately, most Americans view this day as simply another day off of they're in government or banking.

From a historical perspective with a view of current politics, it's interesting to note that George Washington wished to join the British army as a young man. The British rejected him as not good enough.

We all know Continental General Washington proved the British wrong and eventually trapped Lord Cornwallis between the continental army and the French Navy.

General Washington became president Washington and is celebrated as the father of our country.

Abraham Lincoln was vilified in the north and the south. Hard to believe, but there were more vitriolic statements against president Lincoln than even president Bush today.

Likewise, even though we faced a terrible group of enemies in World War II, and the nation was more patriotic then, president Roosevelt faced harsh criticism at home.

Ronald Reagan was ridiculed and mocked. Now, with perspective, we view Roosevelt and Reagan as the greatest presidents of the last century. Ronald Reagan statues are being erected in cities and towns all over the former satellite countries of the Soviet Union such as Poland and the Czech Republic.

Today, we honor all presidents, past and current. To president Bush, history will view you favorably. Countries in the middle east will one day erect statues in your honor and American school children will learn of your presidency while most of the rest of us will respect your memory and honor the leadership you projected despite the best efforts of some to destroy your presidency.

Media Wrong Again On Global Warming Subject

The U.S. media either gleefully or scornfully reported that climate scholars are offered $10,000 to debunk the claims of the alarmist global warming crowd.

This erroneous story was apparently first reported in the London Guardian. The headline was "Scientists Offer Cash to Dispute Climate Study." The allegation in the story was that the conservative-leaning think tank in Washington, D.C., the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), received money from ExxonMobil and then offered the $10,000 reward to debunk global warming.

Then, the British Independent ran with the same story followed later by the Washington Post, and CNNMoney.com

There are a few factual errors:

AEI does not lobby. AEI did not offer money to question global warming. Money for climate research did not come from ExxonMobil.

Seems in their rush to judgement, the media piled lie upon lie.

Who did seem to be behind all of these lies? It appears that Greenpeace, the extreme leftist organization first planted the story with the London Guardian.

Swallowing these lies without scepticism, U.S. Senators including the usual left-wing wackos, Leahy, Kerry, and Feinstein, sent a letter to AEI president Chris DeMuth complaining "should these reports be accurate," then "it would highlight the extent to which moneyed interests distort honest scientific and public policy discussions...Does your donors' self interest trump an honest discusson over the well-being of the planet?"

If Greenpeace was, indeed, behind the planting of this false story, a reasonable person may question when Greenpeace will receive a letter from the U.S. Senators asking if their self-interest trumps an honest discussion over the well-being of taxpayers.

Millions More March? No, Several Dozen Race-baiter March

In a stunning display of the inability to count due to the math version of ebonics, the race-baiting Louis Farrakhan of the disgraced religion of Islam, led his falsely named Millions More March in Washington, D.C. Accompanied by many infamous black racists and anti-semitics, Farrakhan spouted his usual hate.

According to www.newsmax.com, in a press release issued before the event, the ADL listed several of the speakers it had problems with, including, "CUNY professor Dr. Leonard Jeffries, who has claimed that Jews financed the Atlantic slave trade" and New Black Panther Party leader Malik Zulu Shabazz, who the ADL said was "virulently anti-Semitic and racist."

Revealing his inability to read a newspaper and analyze information, Farrakhan blamed the U.S. government for the suffering of the citizens of New Orleans. At no time did Farrakhan attack New Orlean's corrupt Mayor Nagin or the incompetent governor of Louisiana Blancoe for their mismanagement and neglect of the emergency situation.

Yes, Virginia, even black people can be racist, and Farrakhan is the king.
